“I personally find it very hard to create a coherent and interesting narrative in my illustrations. I don’t think that I have a problem with drawing or painting individual elements, but i find it hard to combine them together in order to create a coherent story/narrative in each image. So my question is; How can I improve the visual narrative in my images?”

Marana - Tutorial part 1
There have been some request for me to show my painting process.
So this set of journal entries would be basically dedicated to a new idea I started to develop.
For quite some time I wanted to do a series of paintings that would allow me to acquire some skills in painting different skin color characters and some different scenery and animals. This Marana painting is a first in a series of two. The one below is more of an introduction to the character, the second would showcase her in action.
